Screening 'My Neighbourhood' on You Tube

Thursday, May 20, 8.00 pm CST, the Chicago Palestine Film Festival will be screening with American Muslims for Palestine the film "My Neighbourhood" on You Tube:

Filmed nine years ago, this film highlights the forced displacement of families in Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. "My Neighborhood" follows writer, activist, and poet, Mohammed El-Kurd as a young boy, when half of his home was forcibly taken over by Jewish settlers. El-Kurd has been at the center of the current protests in Sheikh Jarrah, representing a voice of Palestinians against occupation and forced expulsion. These displacements have been experienced by Palestinians for generations and are condemned as a violation of international law and are the root cause of Palestinian resistance to Israeli occupation.

Be sure to stay after the film for a special interview and discussion.
