White Resistance: Letters to the Living

"White Resistance" begins when lawyer Ghaid Qasim receives a hard drive containing nearly 50 hours of footage from Kamal Edwan Hospital in northern Gaza. As she prepares to defend Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya—arrested by Israeli forces after overseeing the hospital during the ongoing genocide—she immerses herself in the recordings, slowly uncovering his courage, exhaustion, and humanity amid unrelenting bombardment.

The film unfolds along two intertwined timelines: in the past, we witness Dr. Hussam’s desperate efforts to save lives under fire; in the present, Ghaid navigates a legal battle in Israeli courts while drawing closer to the doctor’s family, whose strength and sorrow deepen her understanding of the man she is fighting to defend.
