Thirteen in Gaza (2026)

Origin: Palestine | Fiction | Director: Hossam Abu Dan | 77 minutes

Thirteen in Gaza
In Gaza in 2025, thirteen-year-old Raghad and her father, Abu Raghad, are displaced after abombing destroys their home and kills members of their family. In an overcrowded camp, Raghad experiences her first period without her mother, privacy, or access to basic care, revealing how war invades even the most intimate stages of life. As Abu Raghad struggles to protect his daughter, he is drawn into work with Khalil, a trader who profits from humanitarian aid and the black market. Through their story, THIRTEEN IN GAZA explores how prolonged war reshapes society from within—turning assistance into commerce, need into dependence, and protection into a burden that individuals can no longer carry alone. As social bonds weaken and moral choices become increasingly difficult, Raghad’s body and future are pulled into the wider struggle for survival. The film is an intimate drama about forced maturity, fragile dignity, and the deep social consequences of war.
