The Kite That Caught a Mountain is an animated short exploring the many
issues associated with quarrying in Palestine. Combining striking visuals
with a Philip Glass soundtrack, the film gives a vivid depiction of
colonial quarrying in Palestine, and serves as a powerful call for creative
resistances. Made as part of an Oxford Brookes University, School of
Architecture Student Project, the film arrived of a workshop involving
Palestinian NGO Riwaq. This aimed at exploring alternative building
materials, techniques, and design initiatives, so as to offer creative
possibilities for the regeneration of historic centres in Palestine.
